The current generation of the Mambally family in Thalassery, Kerala, who have the distinction of making the first cake in the country, has now prepared the longest brownie in the world, aiming to enter the Guinness Book of World Records. Kozhikode Cochin Bakery director M P Ramesh and Kannur Brownies Bakery director M K Ranjith with their team have prepared this 700-feet long brownie, weighing 2800 kg. The cake was exhibited as part of India's 75th Independence day celebrations. About 900 pictures describing historical events, eminent Indian artists, and noted women sports persons were painted on the brownie. Cashew nuts, chocolate and vegetable oil were used for making the brownie. 35 persons worked continuously for 24 hours to prepare it. Representatives of the Guinness Book of World Records and the Limca Book of Records were present to measure and register the details of the longest brownie.
