So, I got my family KFC last night. I ordered online and then waited in the lobby for food to be done. Got some killer deals for ordering online. But sitting in the lobby it made me think. When I was a kid the lobbies of restaurants always seemed busy. They had tables, condiments, free refills, Wendy's had a salad bar, McDonalds had a playplace, Burger king had a … worse playplace. But now they're empty desolate places where Ubereats/Doordash drivers and people who ordered online wait for orders. There are benefits of eating food at the restaurants that make the food such as the food coming out hot and fresh, if your order isn't right you can get it corrected quickly, and best of all you don't have to clean up your kitchen! The trash from the food gets thrown away in the restaurant so no fry containers ending up in weird places. (I have a toddler and 2 teenagers so...yeah this is a reality for me) Next time our family decides to eat fast-food as a meal we are going to sit in the lobby. Try to bring some life back into those once loved spaces. I'm sure our toddler would love to stretch her legs in a play place while driving between SF and LA. Did you think this post was only going to be about fast-food? NOPE its also about offices. With the rise of WFH people got back hours of their lives in commute time giving them time to rediscovery hobbies only dreamed about on commute home. It also meant spending more time with family, friends, and pets. But working in an office does have some benefits such as making friends, physically being able to bug someone about feedback, and technical expertise osmosis. Osmosis is the spontaneous net movement or diffusion of solvent molecules (information) through a selectively-permeable membrane (Ears & Eyes) from a region of high water potential (expertise) to a region of low water potential (expertise.) Do we need to bring back 100% office? No absolutely not. But what I am saying is it has its benefits. Just like eating food at the place that prepared it. Did you think the post was over? Joke's on you! Its actually about how I specialize in recruiting fantastic researchers for Biotech, Pharma, Environmental, and Food companies. If you need help finding great candidates or just help sifting through your four thousand applicants we have a plan to help you! #fastfood #biotech #RTO

Hello everyone!I'm writing this because I need to shed light on a concerning issue here at DoorDash. Today, I'm departing DoorDash with a heavy heart 💔, not because I wanted to leave, but because the situation forced me to choose between my job and my mental health. This has been a recurring problem over the last three months, particularly since the shift bid at the Mexico office. I'm not speaking solely about my personal experience because excessive stress seems to be a common occurrence, especially among agents—the ones who directly interact with our merchants, customers, and Dashers.Issues like this in the workplace can worsen the risk of mental health challenges. They can hinder productivity, happiness, and overall well-being and may even lead to burnout. On a daily basis, many of us have faced an unusually heavy workload at Operations, resulting in consequences such as arriving late, being absent, or experiencing auxiliary abuse. But have we ever considered the root cause of these issues? Is the leadership team aware of the actual needs of their employees? While you can't control everything in your work environment, it doesn't mean you're powerless, even in difficult situations. If job-related stress is affecting your work performance, health, or personal life, it's essential to take action. Regardless of your profession or ambitions, there are steps you can take to reduce overall stress.Unfortunately, despite trying everything, I had to make the difficult decision to leave. Now, here's my perspective as a psychologist and experienced HR professional:DoorDash needs to find ways to alleviate or eliminate workplace stressors as much as possible, provide coping and resilience support, and ensure that employees know where to seek help if needed. Reducing workplace stress benefits everyone—it boosts morale, increases productivity and focus, reduces workplace injuries and sick days, and improves physical health. All of these factors contribute to lower turnover rates within the workforce.I've always seen DoorDash as a company committed to positive change. However, it's crucial to actively drive that change. I'm speaking on behalf of those who have experienced similar challenges to mine. If DoorDash takes action on this matter, not only will the work experience improve, but productivity will also see a significant boost, leading to mutual benefits.Unfortunately, I won't be around to witness these changes. But I urge everyone to keep raising their voices and strive to be 1% better every day. Change is possible when we work together towards a common goal.

🥕 Instacart is targeting employers’ office snack budgets. To meet the needs of an evolving workplace,Instacarthas teamed up with Sharebite to provide employees with fresh groceries and tasty snacks while they are working in the office on a full-time or hybrid basis or doing tasks at home. Sharebite clients receive a free 1-yearInstacart Businessaccount, enabling snack and grocery ordering for offices. Essentially, businesses give their employees a meal allowance in the form of a Visa card that can be spent on an Instacart order from a grocery store or on a restaurant delivery service. In addition to providing food/snacks for individual workers, companies can offer an allowance for ordering communal food, whether it’s stocking the office kitchen or serving meals and snacks at an onsite meeting or event.#lastmiledelivery Dilip Rao Andrew Nodes

In the face of the restaurant industry's tumultuous journey through the pandemic and beyond, an innovative employment model could be the key to revitalizing the sector. Imagine leveraging a DoorDash-like system where restaurant workers operate as independent contractors or participate in an employee rotation program among local restaurants. This approach could offer flexibility, improve staffing solutions, and incentivize gig employment within the restaurant scene, providing a dynamic response to the evolving workforce demands. https://lnkd.in/eZTv_ykh... #RestaurantIndustry #Innovation #GigEconomy #WorkforceSolutions #HospitalityManagement

It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything, so I wanted to share a quick career update. I started working at DoorDash for Business a few weeks ago and it’s been amazing to say the least. The company's mission, values, and culture truly shine amongst all my peers I've had the privilege of meeting so far. As many of you know, DoorDash has always been my go-to consumer marketplace for restaurant food delivery for a couple of reasons - their dashers provide great service and their customer support team is extraordinary. Many companies talk about being customer-focused/obsessed in providing the best service, but DoorDash simply just does it because it's in their DNA from the top level down.- - - - - So, if anyone in my LinkedIn #community is in charge of reducing stress, boosting productivity, and helping their peers feel valued, here are two ways DoorDash for Business can help: ➡️ Employee Meal Programs ➡️ Employee Benefits. Details in the first comment. DM me if you're interested in learning more about how you can feed your team everywhere they work or attract and retain top talents.#workplacemanagement #employeebenefits #totalrewards #doordash #meals #administrativeassistant #executiveassistant #humanresources
