Use points to pay
Boost your cash flow by paying off your eligible purchases with your American Express Membership Rewards points or a combination of points and payment4.
1. Log in to your Account online or via the American Express Mobile App
2. Select the eligible transaction from your online Account
3. Get a credit on your Account within 72 hours
You can also use your Membership Rewards points to pay your annual fee on selected Cards, make a donation or for a credit on your Account.
With auto-redeem, you can now pay for your monthly Netflix, Stan and Spotify subscriptions with Membership Rewards points, automatically. Once set up, as long as you have enough points, your points will automatically be used to pay off the subscription when your Card is charged every month4.
1. Set up your American Express Card as your payment method on your Netflix, Stan or Spotify account
2. Log in to your Amex Online Account and click ‘Use points for charges’ to visit the Auto Redeem page
3. Choose the subscription you’d like to set up for auto-redeem and click ‘Enable’
And you are done! Every time the subscription is charged to your Card your points will automatically be used to pay it off. If you don’t have enough points the subscription charge will still be added to your Card Account but no points will be redeemed.

Use points to shop at David Jones
Whether it’s a new outfit or something for your home, your Membership Rewards points have you covered. You can use your points to make purchases online at David Jones, or pay with a combination of points and Card payment.

2. Select item and add to basket
3. At checkout, select to pay with Membership Rewards points and when prompted, add your American Express Card details
Use points to shop at Ticketmaster
Whether it’s concert tickets or a night at the theatre, your Membership Rewards points have you covered. Use your points to make purchases online at Ticketmaster, or pay with a combination of points and Card payment.

3. At checkout, create or login to your Ticketmaster account
4. Select to pay with Membership Rewards points and when prompted, add your American Express Card details
Use points on Gift Cards

2. Select the Gift Card and dollar value you wish to purchase and click ‘add to cart’

2. Select your destination, dates and travel requirements, then click the ‘search’ button
3. Select from your search results and click ‘book’
4. Once in the checkout section, you’ll have the choice of paying with points or a combination of points and Card payment

Airline Partners Save money on flights by transferring Membership Rewards points to up to 10 airline partner programs*.

Travel bookings using points may be made for any person, provided all your accounts are kept in good standing and are not overdue. Points cannot be used for Cruise Privileges bookings. All travel bookings are subject to availability. Subject to the American Express Travel Online standard booking terms and conditions. 2. This is available to primary Card Members enrolled in the Ascent, Business Ascent, Spirit, Ascent Premium and Gateway Membership Rewards program. Qantas Frequent Flyer is only available as partner in Business Ascent and Ascent Premium program. Virgin Atlantic Flying Club is not available as an Airline Transfer Partner in the Gateway program.
